Ski to Defeat ALS

Fred.Nobel.SkiLong time CGWA member and early Gorge windsurfing pioneer Fred Noble is battling ALS, a disease he was diagnosed with in 2010.  Two years ago Fred started a successful fund raiser, Ski to Defeat ALS which each year has raised over $100,000.  This year Fred is looking for a number that would bring the three year total to $500,000.

Last month Fred attending our CGWA board meeting, he is in a wheel chair and had his full time care giver with him.  Fred retains a sparkle in his eye and a wonderful passion for life, our board was moved by Fred and his effort.  Without Fred’s support, it’s unlikely we’d have Rowena or Viento beaches to sail from.  In the early history of the CGWA – Fred got it done.  I’ve signed up on team Fredinator and will be skiing this weekend, if you’d like to support Fred click on either of the links below and follow the simple instructions.

For those who are in Hood River, a movie on Fred’s life and quest will be shown tonight (April 9th) at the Columbia Center for the Arts.  The event starts at 6:30, a nominal fee of $5.00 will be charged – I believe Fred will be in attendance.

Please consider supporting Fred Noble and his quest to defeat ALS.
