Have you served on the CGWA before? What years? No.

Why do you want to join the CGWA Board of Directors I love windsurfing- it’s my favorite sport and I love SUP. I’ve been super involved in the non profit world, local governments and Boards for years and feel I have experience that can help CGWA. I recently moved back to Hood River from the city (Vancouver, WA) and that has renewed my interest in plugging into the community that I love. I also have a great deal of respect for Greg the E.D. of CGWA, and know several of the current Board members and volunteers. I have experience working with parks, beach access, CA Coastal Commission, Hood River City, County and Port.

What areas of board duties most interest you (technical assistance, program development, fund raising, public relations, planning, etc.): Perhaps PR, I love creating real time multimedia content for web/social media and media relations. I could help with strategic planning and helping navigate the ever-changing landscape of sports, retail, Gorge trends and the tourism landscape. Also, helping to build awareness for the CGWA mission and the sport of windsurfing in the Gorge. I also am concerned about the future of the sport, how we need to evolve to stay ahead of trends to maintain/build relevance and continue to build vital future for the wind sports industry. I also am a partnership builder- perhaps we could build some promotional partnerships with some new business, restaurants, Chamber, CGKA, Mt. Hood Meadows, the arts community, expand youth outreach, etc. to reach new audiences and build expanded work with existing partners. With SUP in the CGWA equation, we have a whole new opportunity to reach previously untapped demographics. But in general, I am open to help CGWA however is needed, I am open to the greatest need, not necessarily my own wants.
